The Leake County Sheriff’s Office sent the following media release regarding a recent incident on Hwy 488 in Leake County:
“On 24 August, 2024, at around 3:58, Leake County Deputies were dispatched the 7180 Hwy 488, in the Freetrade Community. The caller advised that she had not heard from her friend all day and when she went to her home to check on her, she found her lying face down in the floor and unresponsive. The caller also stated that she observed the husband of her friend, hanging and unresponsive. The female was identified as Kelly Duarte and the male has been identified as Reynaldo Duarte. Law enforcement discovered a third individual unresponsive at the scene, who was later identified as Robert Walker. Leake County Investigators recovered multiple spent shell casings and firearm from inside the residence. All three individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Leake County Coroner’s Office. –Sheriff Randy W. Atkinson”
