KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–A pair of speeding motorcycles spotted by Leake County deputies were expected to cross into Attala County on Hwy. 35 just after midnight Saturday morning.
The bikes were clocked going in excess of 130 mph.
Leake County deputies told dispatchers in Attala County they were not chasing the bikes, since they were on another call. Deputies at that time were on the scene of a two-car wreck on Hwy. 35 at Big Springs Rd.
According to police radio one deputy waited in Kosciusko while another searched on Hwy. 35 and Attala Rd. 1002.
Leake County police radio communications indicated one of the bikes crashed in someone’s yard. Though the deputy who spotted the motorcycles said he had not been chasing the bikes, he did indicate he had stayed behind them for several minutes.
The deputy said the other bike was slowing and finally stopped. Radio communication indicated that rider was from Kosciusko.
The bike that was reported to have crashed in a yard was not found.
